Photo Stability and SPF Determination of Sunscreens
The efficacy and performance of sunscreen activity is studied through a number of techniques specific to the
active and substrate. SPF determination can also be done using the standard COLIPA method.
Two different sunscreen formulations were compared to assess photostability. Encapsulated UV filters showed higher stability compared to the “free” UV filters after various UV exposure timepoints.
