Magical Mystery Tour of Hair Science

Following a very successful TRI Fundamentals of Hair Science course in Frankfurt, Germany last year, the European version of the course was held in Liverpool, UK, on March 5-6th.  The course was held at the John Lennon Art & Design Building, Liverpool John Moores University and attracted 40 attendees, including industry scientists and post-graduate students from the University studying Cosmetic Science.

The course was led by Paul Cornwell and Trefor Evans from TRI, and also featured three guest lecturers from the UK: Gill Westgate (hair follicle biology), Stephen Barton (cosmetic claims regulations), and Bob Hefford (hair colorant technology) pictured above from left to right. 

For the first time, lectures at the event were supplemented by short presentations/demos from scientific equipment suppliers, who had small stands in the course lecture room.  This was very successful. Many thanks to Diastron, Keyence, Surface Measurement Systems and Thermal Measurement Systems for their support.
