TRI attends a Careers in the Cosmetics Industry event

Paul Cornwell, from TRI, attended a Careers in the Cosmetics Industry event at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) on 30th January. The university have the first dedicated one-year MSc program in Cosmetic Science in the UK, which has now been operating for two years, and which takes-on around 30 students per year. TRI support the course with lectures and practical classes on hair science. The University is also hosting the TRI Hair Science and Claims course in March.


The careers event was attended by 100+ undergraduate and post-graduate students from the University. Attendees had a series of seven short presentations about working in the cosmetics industry from a very diverse set of speakers. For example, finished goods companies were represented by Walgreens Boots Alliance and Unilever. Raw material suppliers and distributors were represented by Croda and Brenntag. The fragrance industry was represented by the Vice-President of the British Society of Perfumers. Paul, from TRI, talked about the work done in Princeton on research, education and product testing.


After the presentation the students had a chance to talk to the speakers and get advice on career choices, job application processes, etc.
